A recruitment board
ye hi
as we all know the recruiting in town is being like a spamflood and such and well there's still no way to solve this
so i thought, lets make a recruitment board in town
only for main town likes kamadan, kaineng, cavalon, etc...
it would be just like a schoolboard where officers can note down a recruitment message
it would even be classed between luxon and kurzick for easy of the players
so it's basically like a form
-name
-tag
-members
-events
-extra info
-placed by *playername*
and all players can run up to the board and check the guilds advertising a recruit there
you can click on the writers name so you can instantly whisper him to ask more info if needed or an invite
hope to get some feedback on this
ty
on a sidenote: i myself am officer and it's not nice for anyone when there are 5 other recruiters advertising for their guild
this would keep the recruiting down abit

Would (or should) tone down the recruitment spam in said towns and It'll be easier for both guilds and searching players.

I'm an officer and It's not only annoying when a recruiter is spamming, it's also boring to do as well.
However, I can see the board over-filling with recruting guilds. I suggest that there be a cost to post your guild. Free to post first time, your guild name will be on top of the list and goes down as others post. Pay 1k the repost and put your guild name on top agian.

I like that we have the separate recruitment boards here on guru and I can see an argument for including something like this in game. It may very well speed up the time between a looking player finding a recruiting guild.
On the other hand, I don't believe that would reduce the recruitment spamming at all. It is about advertising. A guy walks into Kamadan and sees a guild is recruiting, she may take the time to look down the boards for that particular guild. And it cost the guild nothing to spam that "Ad".
This would be especially true if they implemented Wetader's suggestion. Why pay 1k to get to the top of the list when you can yell for free. Yes, there will be some people turned off by recruiters and say "well, i'm gonna join a guild but not one that spams" but the same holds true for *most* ads. Shotgun messages are still more benefit than cost.
That said, if it didn't take much time (and I mean not much at ALL, there is still plenty i'd like to see in GW1) I would /sign. Certainly a good suggestion for GW2.

With many areas and many outposts, people is very spread.
Things like boards to find parties or guilds would surely be a good idea.

Add a cost and a limit to the number of events/messages you can post to reduce spam on the board, and also make sure that reporting would be available if someone slammed something offensive up there.
Past that, you've got a solid idea, and it would be a great addition. Players that want to sell items and still do stuff could put a post up on the board for a fee, go out and do things, and then possibly receive offers as they work elsewhere.

Also, I dunno if any of you ever played Puzzle Pirates but in that game there's a command, you just type /cwho XYZ to see info on a "crew" - I think that might be valuable, such as, like OP said, tag, members, alliance, allegience, etc. That way Guild info doesn't have to be spammed like crazy.

/Signed, someway to limit numbers on it (small fee or somthing) would be nice or there would be about 21986398126 messages on it, otherwise you can only see it when a member of that guild is in town?
As someone looking for a guild id like to see somthing like this alot .

Won't work because people will still spam because either their post on the board is too low or they think that no one will ever read it.

But I wouldn't limit it to just guilds, it should be there for public events, announcements, trading.... pretty much everything where you would want a large board advertising your statement.
Like Party Search, but as a clickable entity like a xunali box or a NPC that's permanent.

I'm sorry, but I just cannot see the difference between this "recruitment board" and the guild section of the Party Search. Explain the difference please.
And I don't see how it will reduce recruitment spamming (unless you make recruitment in all chat a ban-able offense).

Not sure. I would sign this if it truly would help. But I guess most people will ignore the feature and continue to spam local chat...

The Guild Section of the Party Search only has space for...25 characters? A Recruitment Board would give Guilds plenty of room to display their Guild.
It will make recruiting and finding a guild a lot easier, especially as some options can be ticked, and searched for, like Kurzuck/Luxon, PvE/PvP/PvE+PvP and such.
/signed for a pretty handy idea

well, i think we could put an npc next to the board, some kind of advertiser
make him shout stuff to attract people "come see, come see, the finest guilds recruiting here!" "come find the guild of your dreams!"
dunno, random stuff but it will get some attention with that guy shouting
